Is today's youth different from previous generation?

Have you ever overheard a part of old ladies conversation concerning the behavior of young people? I suppose you had.
It’s obviously an issue to consider for almost everybody. Observing the behavior of youth in public transport  I noticed that it’s not very popular to offer a sitting place to an older person, when it’s taken by a young one. Certainly there are exceptions, but people in middle age are more likely to stand up and share the chair. It’s promising when young person gives up their place to an old one, but it doesn't happen often enough. We see that majority of youth, who are self-centered and self-confident are in contrast to some, who are brought up in a way, which guarantees being a caring people person.
On the other hand there is quite many young people who would like to carry help to others.  They  take part in many volunteer’s projects and taking duties like visiting and looking after old lonely people, gathering goods and money for shelters, hospices and orphans houses. They are sensitive, helpful and caring, but most of them need constant encouragement.
In summary I need to say that it is certainly true, that today, like in previous generations, youth can be caring on the one side and can be selfish and self-centered on the other one. In my point of view the difference is proportion. According to my observation I mean that there is a huge majority of young people who are confident and centered on themselves and their needs. The helpful teenagers and young adults are in the minority today, but I believe that this depends on bringing up process and it has to change in the future.

How to deal with Asperger Syndrome teen in a daily life? Book reveiw.

Almost everybody has read at least one of Jodi Picoult books. I have the pleasure to be an avid reader of “W naszym domu” (“House rules”).
Have you ever heard about Asperger Syndrome? The main character, Jacob is a teenager with this kind of autism. One of the advantages of reading this novel is a practical knowledge, which should be shared with every average Joe. There are lots of people, especially young, who have innate problems connected with disabilities in social contacts, reading people’s emotions and body language, getting in touch with others, but also aggression, which needs to be controlled.

Jacob is very intelligent person fixed on some criminal aspects of following by accidents and crimes, a bit like Sherlock Holmes. He is trying to be on time in this area and helps the police giving them some crucial ideas. His real problem starts with the death of his tutor, when he becomes the suspected to be a potential murder. Theo, his brother, also has his mysteries.
From my point of view this book is very engaging, keeping our attention and leads us to some implications. A really important problem of today’s life is presented in a quite convincing way, full of practical knowledge about the issue, and how to take care about such a special person, and also what are the influences for daily life of hole family.
I highly recommend this book for people, who can potentially have contact with people with Asperger Syndrome, as his family, teacher, friend, shop assistant, policeman, judge, lawyer or  neighbor. It is a must for almost everybody.
